Service Description
This hands-on, process-oriented class is for people interested in making large-scale work on the potter’s wheel. In addition to healthy hand and body postures for moving clay, we will cover making pots in sections and the coil and paddle method. Our focus will be on using the best techniques for students’ design ideas. There will be both group demonstrations and individual instruction. Basic pottery skills are required, but our technique allows building work without undue strain on the body - strength is not a requirement! The workshop is conducive to conversation and discussion of pottery and is highly community-oriented.
