Guided by Yunting’s expertise, participants will explore historic techniques rooted in the Yuan Dynasty 1330 and later refined through Japan’s renowned Arita porcelain tradition, connecting centuries of ceramic artistry with contemporary creative expression. Suitable for all skill levels, this workshop introduces traditional brushwork techniques, composition, pigment layering, and painting techniques on porcelain. Through guided demonstrations and individual instruction, participants will develop both technical skills and confidence while creating their own blue-and-white porcelain artwork. Yunting will provide for all workshop participants: -Ready-to-use cobalt underglaze paste and binder -Traditional Goat Hair Dami Brushes in large, medium, and small sizes -Ultra Fine-line Weasel Hair Brushes -Other specialized painting and teaching materials like rice paper, 4B and 12 B pencils, pencil sharpeners, erasers, printed A4 reference design sheets, red/blue pens, and utility knives -Students have the option to bring their own bisque-fired work to paint on or purchase work from Yunting for use during the workshop. *** We recommend bringing your own bisque-fired work, but you have options! * Brand-new brushes and cobalt underglaze will be available for purchase for use after the workshop. 2-5 pm - upstairs at OBHP
